Educational Qualification:
For eligibility for National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), a candidate must have passed a 10th, or 12th, ITI from a recognized University/ Institution. Diploma Engineer Trainee- Course must be approved by BTE/ State Technical
Education Board.
2. ITI Trainee- The course must be approved by NCVT/ SCVT.
3. A Full-Time Regular Course is required for Both Diploma Engineer and ITI Trainee.
Courses through Distance Learning Mode shall not be eligible.
Age Limit & Relaxation:
Age is fixed for all the candidates. You must be at least The maximum age limit is 27 years. If your age is less than or above then you cannot apply. Also, you can check the official notification for complete information about age relaxation.
Selection Process:
1 stage online test: In the first stage, Online Aptitude Test (120 multiple questions)
covering General English, Quantitative aptitude, and reasoning will be conducted. The
duration of the test will be 2 hours. Each question carries 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be
deducted for the wrong answer. There are qualifying marks (30% marks for ST/OBC/ PwBD

General/EWS/OBC Candidates: Rs. 300/-
SC/ST/PwBD/XSM/ Female Candidates: Nil
Mode of Payment: Through Offline
Pay Scale:
Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of
2 years at identified NTPC sites and will be paid a consolidated stipend of `24,000/-
per month. On successful completion of training, these candidates will be absorbed in
the pay scale of `24000/- (W7 grade). Annual Increment shall be @ 3% of Basic Pay. The final place of posting will be allocated after the successful completion of the training. ITI Trainee: Selected candidates will undergo training for 2 years at identified NTPC sites and will be paid a consolidated stipend of `21,500/- per month.
